Biblioteca Digitale is a web based service that provides access to Italian full text ebooks organized in thematic collections. All these books are written in Italian and they are published by distinguished Italian firms.

How it works

The library purchases the ebooks one to one or in thematic packets, choosing the number of simultaneous users to activate from a minimum of 3, at the price of an e-copy, to unlimited users. The user have access to the full text versions (not only the bibliography or the abstract), browsing the catalogue or through a boolean search.

Italian content

Biblioteca Digitale is the first ebook platform for libraries which has an original Italian content. In fact, some important Italian publishers partecipate only to this Italian ebook web based service.

Pdf format

It reproduces the paper edition exactly, it ensures usability and it offers search functionalities in the text (for example: search of specific items, chance to highlight, add notes and bookmarks to the text, etc...).

Integration of resources

Thanks to the powerful search-engine, you can search all the texts in the selected collection at the same time.

Notable costs decrease

The e-copy costs less than the paper copy and it allows at least 3 simultaneous users. You buy the e-copy only one time: every year you just pay the web fee (no more than 100 $) for the mainteinance.

The catalogue subject

BIBLIOTECA DIGITALE's catalogue is divided into thematic packets: the library may choose to buy a specific packet assuring the coverage of that subject area. The subjects already present in the catalogue, which is stadily updated and augmented, are: Classics, Politics, Current Issues, Philosophy, Sociology, Antropology, Italian and Foreign Fiction, Italian Literature, Psychanalysis and Religion.

The costant update

The library may choose to add all just published titles to its collection in the fields of interest through a standing order.

The following publishers have already joined Biblioteca Digitale: Fazi, Meltemi, Editori Riuniti, Newton Compton, Edizioni Università della Santa Croce, Castelvecchi, Ancora del Meditterraneo, Arcana and Silab Edizioni Multimediali.
