Ledi - International Bookseller was born in 1935, with the name of L.E.D.I. Libreria Editrice D'Italia, thanks to Ingo Weihs, an Austrian actor and cultured man escaping from the Nazist regime.
During the years of post-war reconstruction, Ledi - International Bookseller became a meeting point for men of culture, professors and scholars coming from all over Italy, who wanted to find publications otherwise unavailable.
With the economic miracle Ledi - International Bookseller began to count among its customers some of the most well known university departments in the field of economic, social, law and human sciences.
Since the 70's, in a climate of constant technological progress, Ledi - International Bookseller has, first of all, mechanized itself and then opened its mind to the most modern technology of informatics, last but not least Internet and the Web.
In its recent history Ledi - International Bookseller counts among its customers some important national, regional and university libraries, both Italian and foreign, besides offering its services to a selected group of scholars.
The experience acquired in more than 70 years of history, together with the new information technologies, allows Ledi - International Bookseller to offer an high-quality and customized service , which is of great value to the entire scientific, academic, librarian and intellectual community.

In 2002 Ledi - International Bookseller began to promote, together with a large group of professors, scholars and experts, an Internet portal devoted to the bibliographical knowledge - LibriShop.it.
