| Ledi - International Bookseller was born in 1935, with
the name of L.E.D.I. Libreria Editrice D'Italia, thanks to Ingo Weihs,
an Austrian actor and cultured man escaping from the Nazist regime.
During the years of post-war reconstruction, Ledi - International Bookseller
became a meeting point for men of culture, professors and scholars coming
from all over Italy, who wanted to find publications otherwise unavailable.
With the economic miracle Ledi - International Bookseller began to count
among its customers some of the most well known university departments in
the field of economic, social, law and human sciences.
Since the 70's, in a climate of constant technological progress, Ledi -
International Bookseller has, first of all, mechanized itself and then
opened its mind to the most modern technology of informatics, last
but not least Internet and the Web.
In its recent history Ledi - International Bookseller counts among its
customers some important national, regional and university libraries, both
Italian and foreign, besides offering its services to a selected group
of scholars.
The experience acquired in more than 70 years of history, together with
the new information technologies, allows Ledi - International Bookseller
to offer an high-quality and customized service , which is of great
value to the entire scientific, academic, librarian and intellectual community.
In 2002 Ledi - International Bookseller began to promote, together with
a large group of professors, scholars and experts, an Internet portal
devoted to the bibliographical knowledge - LibriShop.it.
